Extendam strengthens team and ramps up growth

Extendam is pleased to announce the addition of two highly complementary profiles to its team: John Hewitt, Real Estate Manager and Yves Marchal, Senior Advisor Investment and Asset Management.

John Hewitt: an international career

After completing a business degree at Complutense University in Madrid, an MA in International Business and Finance at ISEE Business School and an Executive Master’s degree (MMI) at ESSEC Business School, John Hewitt began his career in France in 2012 as representative of a Spanish family office. He held this position for seven years, during which time he managed and developed the structure’s real estate activities in France, mainly in the office sector.

In 2019, John joined Advenis REIM as an SCPI fund manager. As well as managing the company’s various SCPI and residential real estate funds in France, he played an active role in developing a commercial real estate fund in Southern Europe, in particular in Spain.

John Hewitt has now joined Extendam as a Real Estate Manager to support the development of hotel real estate funds.

Yves Marchal: a unique career path

Yves Marchal has accumulated an in-depth understanding of his profession thanks to a rare career path comprised of enriching and complementary missions.

Yves was initially responsible for administrative and financial research at France’s urban planning authority SCET (Société Centrale de l’Equipement des Territoires). He went on to take up positions as Regional Manager at Pierre & Vacances, Managing Director of Hôtels Adagio and then of Citadines, and Special Advisor to the Hotel and Tourism Division of the EIA, a credit company managing distressed assets for the Comptoir des Entrepreneurs. In 1999, he joined JLL Hotels as Managing Director for Southern Europe. As a result, he has acquired solid experience in various fields of the hotel industry, whether in terms of category, size or geographic location.

The diversity of this experience, covering everything from management and construction to sales, operations and financial management, gives him a perspective and analytical ability that did not go unnoticed by Extendam, which offered him a role as expert on its Investment Committee in 2019. In 2021, impressed by the quality of his analysis, Extendam offered him a full-time role as Senior Advisor.
