France : opening of the Residence Inn by Marriott Lille

EXTENDAM announces the opening of the Residence Inn by Marriott Lille following a one-year transformation
EXTENDAM has announced the opening of the Residence Inn by Marriott Lille, following a year of construction work. Resulting from the transformation of the former Citadines City Centre Lille, the property has undergone a complete repositioning into a 4-star apartment hotel, ideally located in the heart of the Euralille business district, between the Lille Flandre and Lille Europe railway stations. Sohoma, a long-standing partner of EXTENDAM, will manage the property.
A value-creating repositioning operation
Acquired as part of an upscale market strategy, the asset underwent a comprehensive renovation programme launched in March 2025. The objective was to modernise all offerings and spaces in order to align the establishment with 4-star positioning standards. The works allowed for a redistribution of the common areas, while creating an additional bedroom to bring the property’s total capacity to 102 rooms. The hotel offers two seminar rooms maintained for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) purposes, as well as an expanded and redesigned breakfast area. The establishment remained open during most of the construction, with a complete closure occurring during the renovation of the common areas. Following this transformation, the asset transitions to the Residence Inn by Marriott banner, the Marriott group’s premium extended-stay brand, renowned for its hybrid positioning at the crossroads of traditional and residential hospitality. The concept is based on spacious, functional, and fully equipped rooms, designed to allow guests to work, cook, and live completely independently, while benefiting from a full range of hotel services.
A strategic location in the heart of Euralille
Located in the Euralille business district, the property enjoys a central, highly attractive, and perfectly connected location. In the immediate vicinity of the Lille Flandre and Lille Europe railway stations, it also sits opposite the Tri Postal, an iconic contemporary art venue. The asset is less than a 10-minute walk from Lille Grand Palais, which hosts over 300 events and more than one million visitors each year, as well as the Zénith de Lille. Vieux-Lille (the old town), the Grand Place, and the Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille Cathedral are all reachable within a 15-minute walk. This positioning at the heart of a major and highly dynamic economic hub, combined with the presence of numerous corporate headquarters, coworking spaces, and event infrastructures, provides the establishment with strong appeal for a diversified business and leisure clientele.
“This operation also marks a new milestone in our partnership with Marriott.” “We are very pleased to announce the opening of the Residence Inn by Marriott Lille, which fully illustrates our strategy of value creation through the transformation and repositioning of hotel assets. This operation also marks a new milestone in our partnership with Marriott, as it is the second property initially operated under the Citadines brand that we have repositioning under the Residence Inn banner. This repositioning within the premium extended-stay segment responds to sustained structural demand, particularly in dynamic markets like Lille,”
states Maxime Durand, Manager at EXTENDAM.
